Hands On Maths about less than and more than

 Today we are getting to know more about numbers using manipulative. Ms.Lenny told us stories and we have to show number of buttons to answer her questions.

After that, in groups we have to make our own story using buttons to help us to count and understand more the concepts of more than and less than.

example of the story:
Ravell have 10 buttons. Nathalie has 3 less than Ravell. How many buttons she has?
Can you try to answer it?



RELATIONSHIPS DAY

 On Tuesday, 25th August 2015 Year 3 had a special activity with parents. We had Relationships Day. It's an action day of our Unit of Inquiry.

We had great day together not only with our mommies, but also our daddies and nannies.

We learned that we have to build and maintain our relationships with other people and 1 way can be with doing activity together.

From Sorting Out to Going Further Activity

 From celebrating 70th Independence Day going further to learn how to maintain a relationships. This week, our integrated activities starting from celebrating Independence Day on 17th Aug. We had flag ceremony followed by making Yellow Bento Rice with some toppings. After that we ate the rice together ....so yummy. Ibu Laningsih shared story about Sukarno - RI 1st President and history of Indonesia Independence. Now we know more about Indonesia and proud to be Indonesian!












In the class, we continue the activities with class discussion with our guest speaker Ms.Tasya. We discussed about types of relationships we have..we found out that our relationship is not only with family and friends but also can be with things , our pets, our country , etc.

We sorted out the differences between needs and wants. There were cards provided and we have to sort it into categories of most important needs and wants to the very least important of needs and wants. We sorted in group and then we have to share the reasons why we decided the category that way.

We continue to make the family tree project in the class , and soon we will start our visual arts project too.

Place Value Unit 1

 This unit, we are learning about Numbers.  We have to be able to solve mathematical problems.  Ms. Lenny provided us with Numbers Disc and we can create our own numbers and put the number disc on the table given , after that we have to write what are the place values, write the number in numerals and words.

This activity will show how far our understanding of what we're learning about numbers.



PE Unit 1

 We had 1st session PE class with Pak Chairul.  We learned to have good coordination and movements such as walking, running and sliding while moving 1 object from 1 place to another place.

Pak Chairul paired us with a friend and we had a race who's the fastest.

It improves our motoric skills too!



Music Class Unit 1 - Recorder







 This semester, we will learn how to play recorder with our music teacher Pak Timmy.

In our first session, we learned about  basic skills how to hold and put our fingers on the right place. It would be difficult to play it if we're not put our fingers properly.

Next session, we will start to play a song with our recorder :) Can't wait!
