Shanti Desert descriptive writing unit 4

  The Amazing Desert
One bracing sandstorm day, sand was fiercely blowing up my nose. The camel’s stench was appalling. In the desert I nibbled a mouthful of cacti and ostrich eggs and it was scrumptious!  I felt the sweltering sand, and the coarse pyramid and scorching heat. And all the cacti had prickly thorns. I heard the sandstorm whistling in my ears, and people screaming, “I need water!” I saw the plunging pyramid, and I also saw the blue sky as blue as the Earth!

Desert

When I walked into the desert, I was sweating as much as a tap water running. I couldn’t find water in the desert. So I was burning in the middle of the desert searching for water. I touched and pick out the sharp spiky cactus. The spikes were as sharp as a sharks tooth. The plunging mountains and pyramids were as tall as the tallest skyscraper in the world. There was a person shouting for water on top of the plunging mountain. The desert was barren because there were no plants. An eagle was hunting for food like hunter hunting animals in the jungle or forest. The birds were dying of the heat in the desert sky and it is near the sun so it is so hot like hell.

Mountain

Ones upon a time, there was this towering mountain in the middle of a forest on an island. I saw this huge lake at the bottom of the mountain and if you see up in the sky a lots of white woolly clouds but if you see up at the top you can see lots and lots of crumbly snow and tones of parched rock/soil. I smell very clean air at the to the bottom of the mountain, grass, leaf and fragrant flower. I hear very laud boulders rolling fast down the mountain. I taste burning steak on my mouth, frozen ice and icy water...

I feel smooth ice and icy crumbly freezing snow yay...

Students started to sorting out and going further activities for their integrated diorama project.  This project is integrated between ICT, English, Inquiry and Visual-arts.  Where they have to be able to interpreting information they had from their previous research to their project and reporting on the inquiry process.

They also had library skills session with our librarian and learning about Dewey system, so the students are equipped with library skills knowledge when they need to do research there.

Open-Minded

Everyone is unique and have their own strenght and weaknesses. Today we had a new student in class ,named Yellow. And everyone must give a comment about him.  Most of the comments about Yellow  that he is "different" and "look weird".

Students then learned to see a person in a positive perspective and to learn that everyone is different and unique and we must appreciate and respect everyone.

In the end, students able to show a positive perspective about Yellow and learned to do the same with everyone in their lives.
